TEACHING BACKGROUND:
I began teaching fitness in my 20’s and became a CrossFit coach in my 30’s. I transitioned to teaching only yoga in my 40’s.
I have been teaching yoga for 10 years.
I teach Vinyasa Flow.
My notable certifications and specialized trainings include a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification with Jack Cornfield and Tara Brach, 300+ hours with Jason Crandell, 200-hour teacher trainings with Colin Brightfield (Power Vinyasa), Rob Hess (Prana Flow), Matt Giordano (Chromatic Yoga), and 100+ hours with Shiva Rea (Prana) and Byron de Marse (Empowerment Yoga).
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TRAINEES GAIN FROM YOUR PORTION OF THE TRAINING?
For meditation, I would like to focus on different styles of meditation from a diverse range of lineages and psychology: sitting, standing, walking, and laying down; Japa mala or recitations practice using beads; Centering prayer, etc. My hope is that students will find a practice that suits their style and disposition best and cultivate a regular habit of meditation.
DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE:
My teaching style is engaging, playful, and purposeful. I weave creativity and athleticism with non-dogmatic technique, encouraging students to feel authentic in their own bodies while staying open and willing to try new things. Music is an essential part of my classes, it creates rhythm, energy, and emotional depth, supporting both movement and presence. I draw from a broad range of global spiritual and philosophical traditions to offer inspiration that is accessible and meaningful for practitioners at any level.
I enjoy teaching and practicing more energetic, athletic-style yoga classes, while also maintaining a personal practice that includes sitting meditation and stillness. I am continually learning how to balance movement, mindfulness, rest, and the many responsibilities of life, and I hope to bring that spirit of exploration and growth into my teaching.
WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE GRASSROOTS YOGA COMMUNITY?
I hope I bring humor, inspiration, and a genuine sense of fellowship to the yoga community, and I’ll admit, a little spice and occasional sass. As a regular practitioner myself, I value staying connected to the practice not just as a teacher, but as a student. I am always open to conversation and shared exploration with fellow teachers and students. I strive to embody a beginner’s mind, remaining curious and committed to learning and growing physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOU:
I have been deeply blessed with a partnership of two decades, three children, two cats, and a dog.
Outside of yoga, my passions include pottery, reading, especially spiritual and fantasy genres, and quiet reflection. I am energized by connection with others and deeply value my family, friends, and community, while also learning to better balance the fullness of life with the need for solitude and restoration. Spending time observing nature and the world around me is currently one of my most meaningful daily practices.
I am deeply grateful for my life and consider myself blessed. Each day is an opportunity to keep learning, growing, and showing up more fully and authentically to the practice of living and growing in love.
