About Grassroots Yoga

Grassroots Yoga is located in the heart of midtown Ventura, and was founded by born-and-raised resident, Sarah Ingram, in 2015, as a donation based park service. Through enormous support and communal efforts, the micro business moved in to it’s current brick and mortar space in 2018 where it continues to blossom each and every day. At Grassroots Yoga, we are proud to be a part of such a loving and supportive community where we learn, grow & give back.

With two diverse experiences to choose from, our class schedule offers over 80 classes with the option of an infrared heated practice, or classic unheated practice. Grassroots Yoga is well known for being a vibrant and diverse community, and our mission to give back 5% of revenue to Ventura. We feature a wide array of yoga classes, immaculate and beautifully designed spaces, warm and welcoming personalized client care, abundant retail shop, and top of the line instructors and staff.

OUR VISION & MISSION

To create a welcoming and comfortable yoga environment where everyone feels like they belong, so we can work together to support those in the community that need it most.

WHAT YOGA MEANS TO US

Yoga is the union of mind, body and spirit. It starts as we practice mindfulness and connection to our bodies on our yoga mats in the form of asana (yoga poses). Eventually our practice expands as we learn to love our true Self through all of the eight limbs of yoga. As we continue our yoga practice, we are able to foster more loving connections to the people in our lives and beyond.

WHAT COMMUNITY MEANS TO US

“The next buddha will be a sangha” – Thich Nhat Hanh

The word sangha is Sanskrit for “community”. The times of gurus in robes on a big stage are evolving into communities that come together to learn from one another the teachings of our own hearts. Feeling like we belong is a biological necessity of being human. When we feel like we belong, we bloom into supportive and loving beings that can achieve endless possibilities. We would love for you to be a part of our community!
