    WHERE WERE YOU BORN/RAISED?
My dad was in the Air Force so I was born in Virginia but was raised all over the country

TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR PERSONAL PRACTICE
I discovered yoga about 7 years ago after moving to California. I was walking along the beach and came across a donation based class that quickly became my go-to on the daily. I absolutely fell in love with it and all that it taught me about myself. Soon after, I started to explore SUP yoga, yin/restorative & sound healing, which opened up a whole new world to my personal practice!

TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I received my 200 hr RYT certificate in May of 2017 in Hawaii, a place I consider my second home. It was such a magical experience & I always try to bring some of those aloha vibes with me whenever I’m on the mat. However, I’m still very new to teaching due to a personal trauma that I experienced just a few months after returning home from teacher training. I really thought that it broke me and took away all the knowledge and light I had gained. But as soon as I built up the courage to step back on my mat I was shown just how powerful & healing yoga can be. Now, more than ever, I want to use my personal experience to become a better yoga teacher and ultimately, help heal others.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE?
That’s a tough one, but I have to say Frog pose. I seem to hold a lot of emotion in my hips so I could hang out in those hip openers all day. Ahhh just thinking about them gives me sweet release!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA/SPIRITUALITY/SELF HELP BOOK?
The Secret Power of Yoga by Nischala Joy Devi. It gives a heart-centered, feminine perspective on the interpretations of the Yoga Sutras. I could read it again and again!

    ANY ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS?
Trust the process, stay present & be kind to yourself

WHAT DOES “COMMUNITY” MEAN TO YOU?
Community is something I struggled with while growing up because I moved around so much. I always felt like I was a lone wolf out there in the world. And to be honest, the Grassroots community is the first that has really opened my eyes to the beauty of having one and being involved in one. I have never been more grateful in my life to find a place where I’m surrounded by such loving, giving people, who have truly taken me in with open arms and so much opportunity to grow. Thank you<3.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT VENTURA?
All the beauty it has to offer.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
RAKlife. Random acts of kindness is what life’s all about!
