    WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
    Born and raised in sunny Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR PERSONAL PRACTICE
    I started practicing yoga as a transition from gymnastics after a series of ankle injuries. 9 years later, I have had the opportunity of practicing Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Hatha lineages. My practice has taken me across two continents and has been my primary toolbox for healing, balance, and love.

    TELL US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR TEACHING EXPERIENCE
    After practicing for several years, I pursued a teacher training in Vinyasa Ashtanga. My teaching experience has been in leading vinyasa and restorative classes while continuing to learn as a student of yoga.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA POSE?
    My favorite yoga pose evolves as I adapt to my surroundings. At the moment, my favorite pose is chaturanga for its strength and steadiness.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE YOGA/SPIRITUALITY/SELF HELP BOOK?
    Questions as Catalysts for the Hero’s Journey by Chris Uhl. It’s a short essay that helped me reclaim my story and find the courage to walk my path.

    ANY ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS?
    We are all beginners in yoga. My advice would be to embrace the word as an opportunity to ask questions, observe, and take foundation classes. Many people dive right into intermediate or advanced classes but the poses when learned properly can be more valuable than the immediate sweat you may receive from a more physically challenging class.

    WHAT DOES “COMMUNITY” MEAN TO YOU?
    Community is an important component to finding balance for me. Building a community practice has been about fostering healthy human connection and has helped me grow my understanding and acceptance of others and myself. On a larger scale, when strong communities are empowered, it has the possibility of catalyzing change and building resilience.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT VENTURA?
    Ventura has only been my home for a short time. What I love the most is how the mountains feed into the ocean.

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
    Food Forward is a non-profit in Ventura that works on food access, education, and reducing waste. I’m passionate about their work in food recovery and promoting social equity through growing the local food economy.
