Policies & Etiquette
MEMBERSHIP SIGN-UP POLICY:
The Grassroots Pass and Discounted Grassroots Pass are auto-renew memberships and will automatically debit your card on file for the agreed upon amount each month, until you cancel. Our membership cancellation policy and instructions can be found below. Memberships are a 3 month commitment, meaning you can not cancel your membership until 3 months have been charged to your account. We do not prorate, or refund memberships.
MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY:
All memberships require a 3 month up front commitment, meaning you can not cancel your membership within the first 3 months of signing up. Membership cancellations require a 2 week notice. If your next autopay is scheduled within 2 weeks of your request, you are responsible for that payment and your membership will not renew the following month. All requests to cancel memberships must be made with management by emailing email@example.com.
MEMBERSHIP SUSPENSION POLICY:
Memberships can be suspended for medical or travel reasons for a $20 suspension fee. Memberships must be suspended for a minimum of 2 weeks and no longer than 3 months. If you need to suspend your membership longer than 3 months there will be an additional fee of $20 for every 3 months. Membership suspension requests must be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
MEMBER GUEST PASSES:
Members are allowed one guest pass per month. Guests must be new to the studio. To register your guest, please have them create an account with us online. Once they’ve created an account, please email us at email@example.com if it is more than one day before the day of class. To register your guest the day of, please call us at (805) 628.3676 and let us know which class you plan on bringing them to. Did you know?: You can earn additional buddy passes by posting any Grassroots Yoga merchandise on your social media and tagging us along with the hashtag #grassrootsyogafam!
Preregistered spots are held until 5 minutes before class begins. If you are not signed into class by then, your spot may be given to someone on the waitlist. Please de-register yourself from class if you can not make it to avoid any late cancellation or no show fees, and to make room for someone on the waitlist. You may cancel any class reservation online, in our class app, or by calling us at (805) 628-3676. It is highly encouraged to use our simple online registration system to schedule and cancel classes. Please see our policy concerned no show fees below.
NO SHOW FEES:
No show fees are incurred the minute after the start of any class you are registered for but not checked into at the front desk. Please see below for the fees associated with each type of pass, and further details including member guest passes, running late, and workshops.
All memberships including the Grassroots Pass, Discounted Grassroots Pass, New Student Intro Month, Unlimited Month Pass and Travel Pass will be charged a fee in the amount of $10 by current credit card on file.
All class packages will have 1 class will be deducted from the package on file.
Drop-ins and workshops will not be refunded or credited.
Please treat the waitlist as though you are registered for class. Meaning, if you are no longer interested in coming to class, de-register yourself from the waitlist right away to avoid a fee. Anyone that is moved into class from the waitlist and does not show up for class will be charged a no show fee in the amount specified above. To be alerted when you’ve been moved off the waitlist and in to class, please make sure your notification settings are turned ON in your account settings. We can double check this, and make adjustments at the front desk if needed.
You can deregister yourself from class as easy as you registered! Log on to your account and hit “cancel booking” if you’re on our app, or “cancel” if you’re using the MindBody app or our website. You are also welcome to call us at (805) 628-3676 if you don’t have online access or need to deregister a member guest. Please do NOT email us for class cancellations.
If you have registered someone for class as your monthly member guest, YOUR account will be charged the no show fee if you or your guest fails to cancel their held spot by the time specified below. Please do NOT email us to deregister your guest. Instead, call us at (805) 628-3676.
You may cancel without incurring a cancellation fee up to the scheduled class time. For instance, if you are registered for a 5:30pm class, you have until exactly 5:30pm to cancel without incurring a no show fee. Your account will be charged, or deducted at 5:31pm.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of arriving when we originally intended to. If you are running late for class, please call us at (805) 628-3676 right away to let us know that you will be arriving a little late. That way we can save a mat spot for you, and delay any automatic no show fees.
CLASS PURCHASE POLICIES:
Class purchases are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend and cancel class before the above no show fee policy takes action, a credit will be made to your account for future use. All class packages and passes are activated on the date of first use (not the date of purchase). All single class purchases will remain on your account as a credit if you are unable to attend class and cancel in an appropriate time. Extensions on passes may be granted to those facing unexpected medical complications. Extensions and suspensions are not guaranteed, made on a case by case basis, and must be requested with management by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please advise that approved membership suspensions are charged a fee of $20 for every 3 months requested.
WORKSHOP PURCHASE POLICIES:
Workshop cancellations made 72 hours prior to the workshop start time will be issued a full refund to the payment method used to enroll. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the workshop start time and no-shows are not eligible for a refund or credit.
This policy applies to all workshops, unless specified.
Workshop cancellations must be made at the front desk, by calling, or by emailing email@example.com.
LATE ENTRY & EARLY DEPARTURE ETIQUETTE:
A 7-minute grace period is allowed for late entries. Please check in then enter quietly through the back door to the practice space. Please respect the authority and discretion of the front desk staff—they have the best interests of the entire group in mind. If you need to leave early, please let the instructor know before class begins and leave quietly through the back door of the practice space. Please call ahead and let us know you are running late to avoid any no show fees.
Arrival: Please try your best to arrive to class 10-15 minutes early.
Shoes: Please remove your shoes and silence your cell phone upon entering the studio. Absolutely no shoes are allowed in the practice space. Please make sure you leave with the shoes you came with. If you’d like to use our shoe clip system, multi-colored clips are available at the entry way to mark your shoes. This is highly encouraged if you have popular shoes that might look like others! (ie: Rainbow sandals, Birkenstocks, Havanas, Reefs…). We are not responsible for anyone’s belongings. You are welcome to store your personal items in our cubbies or in the lockers in the locker rooms. Please bring your own lock.
Props: Please check the whiteboard at the entrance to the practice space to see what props your instructor would like you to have for class. All props are provided by the studio and can be found at the back of the practice space. All blocks must be wiped down with our prop cleaner before returning them to the prop shelf. Please DO NOT set up your mat in the prop area. There is a white line on the floor indicating where the prop area begins and the mat space ends.
Mats: Sometimes our classes get busy, please be kind and make mat space for students as they enter.
We love when our students make offerings to our community altar! You are welcome to offer anything you personally connect with or is deserving of some extra love and energy from the collective. Any offerings left during our monthly altar clearing will either be discarded with care and gratitude, donated, moved to lost & found, or placed back on the altar. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
MAT STORAGE POLICY:
Mat storage is for members holding an active Grassroots Pass or Discounted Grassroots Pass only. Please return rental mats to the designated “rental mat” baskets near the front desk. All members wishing to store their mat must pick up an ID tag from the front desk. Any unmarked mats will be moved to the lost & found. We are not responsible for any lost, misplaced or stolen mats. We highly recommend that you write your initials or name somewhere on your mat. Please ask the front desk for a permanent marker. All stored mats require a mandatory heavy wipe down after each use with mat cleaner which can be found in the prop area at the back of the practice space. If you decide that you would no longer like to store your mat, please remove your tag so someone else may have that spot.
LOST & FOUND POLICY:
Any personal items left at the studio overnight, excluding altar items, will be moved to the lost & found. The lost & found is cleaned out frequently. Before clean outs, we will post an alert at the front desk and around the studio. If you forgot something at the studio, please call us at 805.628.3676 and ask us to set it aside for you at the front desk. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
LOCKER ROOM ETIQUETTE:
Due to the California Drought, please limit your showers to 2 minutes. And as always, be considerate of those who are waiting to use the shower after you. Please be mindful of any water that puddles around the shower and use your towel to clean up or let our front desk staff know that the locker rooms need some extra attention. Cleanliness and maintaining a welcoming environment is very important to us! Please bring your own lock for the lockers. No overnight storage. Any forgotten or left locks after 2 days will be cut and all items will be donated or discarded. Feel free to store your stuff in the open cubbies inside the locker rooms or in the lounge. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Feel free to park in our shared parking lot at the corner of E Main St. and Jordan Ave. in stalls marked “yoga”. Please do not park in Mission Animal Hospital’s marked parking stalls or block our residential neighbors’ driveways. Additional public parking is on Jordan Ave., San Nicholas St, and Seaward Ave. We are not responsible for any towed vehicles that do not abide by the rules.
If you reduce your carbon footprint by walking or riding your bike, you can rent a yoga mat for free! Park your bike at our bike rack by the front door.
